Final conclusion: Louisiana = hot, sweaty, sticky boredom

Baseball, baseball, baseball... what to do. Jacin's life is baseball. It has been going very well for The Rebels-they have won a few tournaments and had fun doing it. The season is almost over! Actually, that is where my whole family is right now, like on every other weekend. After yesterday, I wouldn't go if they paid me. But I'll tell you about that later.

Jacin, because of his arm, was not allowed to pitch for the rest of the season, so that's been pretty hard on him; pitching is his best strength. But he will be going to physical therapy for the next month, twice a week, to get back into his groove. Still, he has been playing a lot of first base and other positions. Yesterday he hit a HOME RUN!

So what do we, the family of the "stars" do while they're playing? We sit, in the grueling heat, and attempt to watch the game. I feel so bad for Jacin and his teammates, who have to wear those long uniforms and run around in that heat. I know Louisiana weather probably doesn't even compare to Nevis, but it was 103 degrees yesterday. We sat there for 6 hours with sweat literally dripping down our faces and legs, clothes completely drenched. Everyone had umbrellas to hide under. Believe me, I wouldn't have come if I wasn't promised a trip to the mall before (it was worth it, though). And what's worse: the mother of this 7-year-old girl, Catherine, asked me if I could take her to the park around the corner from the baseball field. I said sure, and there come five little kids, ages ranging from four to seven, begging me to bring them to the park. Don't get me wrong, I love playing with little kids (and plus I really could not wait to get into the shady park), but these ones all wanted a turn for a piggyback, and then they wanted me to run around while on my back. Keep in mind that it was 103 degrees. One of the girls wanted to go back to the field, but nobody else did, so they were all screaming, "4 against 1, we win! We get to stay!" So I had to take all the kids back, just so Annie could stay. Turns out, all she wanted was some ice to suck on. When we were halfway to the park again, Norris (he is the most adorable 4-year-old I've ever seen) cut his finger on a soda can and started bawling, so we had to bring him back and wait for him to get a Band-Aid, and later he got hurt again--Norris is one of those kids who just loves to thrash around and throw himself on the ground whenever possible. Then these really mean kids came to the park and started taking Steven's hat and not giving it back, taking basically anything of our's they could find. And then they spit in Norris's shoe, who then asked me if I could wipe it off for him. The kids that were with me wanted to wrestle the other kids, and that's where I had to draw the line because, let's face it, the mean people were huge! I had to hold all the shoes and hats so the "meanies" wouldn't steal them because "Jackie's a GROWN-UP, you have to listen to her!"

So I guess you could say I had a pretty eventful day. Mom and I did some serious shopping at the mall while the guys stayed in the car. Mom and Dad got this awesome $375 comforter for only $115! Now that's a bargain! And everything I bought was 50% off at my favorite stores. Plus, after the games we went to Zeas, our favorite restaurant. Jacin didn't come--he left with Spencer, a friend from the team.

The latest update from Mom today is that the game just started. It was supposed to start at 10:50, but the preceding game went late (10 innings), so it started now, at 12:45, almost two hours late. We won both games yesterday, so who knows what'll happen today!

So if you will excuse me, I have to go eat lunch, by myself, but I will be back to tell you all about more of the happenings in our lives.

Hi peoples!!!

Hello, I'm at school right now in the computer lab. My research project is on J.K. Rowling, and I've already used up my two internet sources, so Ms. Bossenmeyer said we can do whatever we want. Sooooo anyway, we haven't been doing much lately besdies Mardi Gras. I will have Mardi Gras ictures up ASAP, but right now they're on Jacin's computer, so I'll have to get them onto a disk to put them on here. Well, 4th period is almost over, and we're going to the library for our "weekly lesson," so I have to go. I promise that I'll put those Mardi Gras pictures up when I get them all downloaded and uploaded and all that.

Hi there again. It seems like I haven't been on here in forever. Well, that's basically because I haven't. But I'll explain that later. Here are some pictures from California. The first one is of Jacin, me, and Levi skiing. The second picture is me on Christmas morning, sucking on my giant candy cane and listening to my not-yet-broken Archos. The third picture is of Levi, Jacin, me and Eason at Mike's pizza. The next is of me, Jacin, and Lynn. The last picture is (obviously) of Dad. There's not much to say about Calfifornia other than the fact that we had fun skiing and visiting the Goodales. I don't think I need to elaborate because most ofyou reading have heard about the trip already.

Edit:
After getting many e-mails about people "not being able to see the post," I decided to check it out, and, of course, there it was, accidentally having been saved as a draft. So here I am now (before school, with 4 minutes till I have to leave), finishing this thing up.

Lately we've been doing... nothing. Well, Jacin and I played basketball, but that's over. So I figure since I don't have to go to treacherous practices every waking moment of my day and then come home to squeeze in homework, I might be able to update this blog a little more often. I hope.

I was nominated for Student of the Year, and though I wasn't chosen, it's still pretty huge to get something like that. Basketball is over. Mainly I've just been hanging out with my friends and playing volleyball. Life is not life without some kind of sport going on. I love the chaos.

Jacin is starting baseball. He blew off All-Stars traveling basketball for baseball. That idiot. WHO in their right mind DOES that?? But it's his decision. So anyway, I don't hear from Jacin often because he's always gone somewhere or playing at the neighbor's. He has been spending all of his time with Dallas, who will be moving soon.

Mom has been doing her thing in the kitchen... you know. She had a lot of fun in Nevis.

Dad has been rocking all the Mardi Gras parties and going ot as many parades as he can. As you probably know, he recently got into a car accident, but he's okay--he escaped with a muscle contusion or however the heck you spell that.

We went to 6 Mardi Gras parades Saturday alone, and we had a blast! I'll have a picture up of all our beads ASAP. We also went to Zeas for dinner and to a Tulane-Memphie men's basketball game. It was awesome because they were dunking and stuff, and they totally KILLED Tulane.

That's about it. I could've gone into more detail with some of that stuff, but it's 7:33 and Mom blows a gasket when I'm not ready to go at exactly 7:30, so I have to go now!

What we've been up to lately

Soooooo, I'm sorry I haven't updated in a long, long time--I've been busy! I've had basketball practice every day, and we've had two games (won 1 lost 1). Mom had her Christmas party last night, so Dad took Jacin and I to see Harry Potter! We thought the girls would still be here when we got back because it was still 9:30, but they were already gone! What a lame party... But Mom got this awesome massage/heat thing that you put on a chair or in the car.
Today we're taking our Christmas picture. Joy. I really hate Christmas pictures because they always turn out really bad. My idea was that we could just have Play-Doh in it and call it done. Of course not. So here's some pictures of what some of us have been up to. Notice Mom and Dad are in none of them. There's ME before the dance, in front of the Christmas tree. Mom made me go through this whole picture-taking thing.
From left to right: my friends Jennifer, Amy, me, and Gillian. We met up with some other people there.
Aww look, it's Play-Doh. Would that make a great Christmas picture or what? Maybe photoshop our faces in there....
This is just a random picture of random people at the dance. From RIGHT to LEFT: Bailey (in green), Gillian (in red), some guy I don't know, some girl I don't know, Brenden (in blue), and some other people.
And there is Jacin's birthday party. I uploaded these pictures in order of which they were taken, but somehow this one (the first one taken) turned up last. I don't know why... But anyway, so those are Jacin's friends. From Left to Right: Josh, Gerard, Austin (half of his head), Jacin, Brenden (a different Brenden from above), Christian, Taylor.

Let's see... what HAVE we been doing? I guess nothing, really. Jacin and I both started basketball. He lost his first two games, and I won 1, lost 1. Mom is excited about Nevis, and Dad, Jacin, and I are getting ready for skiing in California!

And just now, I notice that the bottom of this page says, "Could not connect to Blogger.com. Saving and publishing may fail." Thanks for telling me NOW. Why the heck did they put that at the bottom of the page? I think it might've been better to put that on the top, but noooooooo. Oh well. I shall try it right now.

Love, Peace, and Chicken Grease,
